Playground Safety

In the summer, and when the grass and weather are dry, play will be on the field.

In the winter, and when the grass is wet, play will be on the playground and in the Millenium Garden.

On the field, children should play where they can be seen by the supervisor, not behind the building. Children should be advised to:

? Stay in the field, and not climb over the fences.
? Keep off the banks and away from the hedges.
? Look after the plants and trees ? do not break off pieces to play with or climb trees.

On the playground, play with consideration of others and in accordance with the playground rota displayed. Children should be encouraged to respect the games which other children are playing.

Out of bounds areas ?
? between the shed and the gate
? around the swimming pool
? around the large pond
? around the cars in the car park.

Access to the toilets is via the path to Classes 1 and 2, NOT through the hall.

The path from the playground to Classes 1 and 2 is for access only, not playing.

Climbing on the walls or the tables, and fighting (including play fighting) are not allowed.

In the Millennium garden, children should be encouraged to be calm and quiet at all times. It is a place for reflection and/or quiet talk.

This means that there should be ?
? no running
? no shouting
? no noisy or violent games.

All children must play outside during dry playtimes, unless permission from the class teacher is recorded on the clipboard. Children wishing to collect items from the classroom or cloakroom during playtime, must ask permission.
