1 Sep 2001 - LOOKING AHEAD TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR

As the Autumn term begins, here's what the teachers and children are looking forward to most in the year ahead:

CLASS 1 MISS COUCH

We are really looking forward to welcoming the new reception children into Class 1. Our new topic will be "All about Me" and we have decided to transform our home corner into a hospital. We are going to bring dolls to school to be our poorly patients! Everybody is very excited about our new Early Years outdoor play area and we can't wait until it is ready for us to use.

CLASS 2 MRS BIRDWOOD & MRS NICHOLLS

As we start the new term, we are really looking forward to having new children in our class, and making new friends. We have two exciting topics leading up to Christmas. The first one is called "All about Me", where we will be finding out about families, health and other people. This is followed by our "Let's Celebrate" topic, which looks at a range of interesting festivals and gives us a colourful and festive lead up to the end of term.

CLASS 3 MRS HARRIS

Everyone is looking forward to an exciting and refreshing start; new class, new friends and a different teacher. In our first topic in Key Stage 2, we will be learning about life as part of a European Community. We will be carrying out research by reading and using the Internet. We may also learn how to sing some French, German and Spanish songs along the way! It will be fun to experience working with fresh peers within this new, challenging and supportive environment.

CLASS 4 MISS DRAKE

A new year, a new start and a new teacher! In class four, we are all looking forward to our new topic about life in the European Community, and studying mountain environments. This will be followed by a topic on the Victorians, as we move closer towards Christmas. All in all, it promises to be a formative, packed, and exciting term ahead.
